We Empower Change Through Expert Insight

We help our clients to solve their most critical business problems and deliver sustained strategic improvements across all parts of their organisation - we aim to work ourselves out of a role by building the capabilities and developing staff so that they can take matters forward themselves.

Our Leadership

Duncan Emery
Managing Director

Duncan founded Emery Quinn to support clients through major strategic changes, combining insight and rigour with the pragmatism and people leadership skills he has refined as a senior leader in industry. He has a track record of more than 25 years of delivering transformational strategic, organisational, and operational change in global industrial manufacturing and service organisations.

During his early career he spent six years as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company during which he supported clients to address their most critical problems, and provided him with in-depth knowledge of strategy, organisation, operations, and change management principles. After returning to industry, Duncan deployed these capabilities in senior general management, strategy, sales, and business development roles in PE-owned, publicly listed and start-up companies to drive organisation-wide transformation programmes.

Latterly, he has held roles as Global Operations Director and COO for global manufacturing networks in the advanced ceramics, specialty chemicals, and clean tech sectors. In addition to delivering major financial improvements through enhanced operational efficiency and effectiveness, he has initiated programmes to deliver sustained environment, health and safety, and ethical improvements through-out the associated value chains.

Duncan holds a 1st Class (Hons) degree in Physics, and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering (Applied Catalysis) from Imperial College London. Outside of work, he spends most of his time running around after three young children which helps to keep him fit to compete in Age Group triathlons for Ireland.
